Mung Bean Sprouts Icecream

It's Time for some excitement and experiments, I had some mung Beans at home.Sprouted them and tried something different. Wanted to do something gluten and preservatives free. A Home made Ice cream ...was a dream for me ...i never knew how to make ice cream at home apart from those ice cream mix packets we use to get commercially. This is my first attempt of making one at home so thought to do with something different as base and something which is healthy. We always add sprouts in salads and curries, try this new variant..I loved the texture and kept digging in.

 

Ingredients



1) Mung Beans Sprouts -  Take one cup of Mung Beans soak them in water over night and sprout them.

2) Milk - 1 Cup Milk

3) Sugar - 1 Cup Sugar

4) Cardamom - 10 - 12 Whole Cardamom in quantity.

5) Almonds and raisins - For Garnishing

Health Benefits



Mung bean when you consume 1/2 cup contains 106 calories however mung bean sprouts when consumed

 in the same quantity contains only 16 calories. So Mung bean sprouts are low calorie, high fiber food.

Mung Bean sprouts contain good amounts of Vitamin B and Iron. It Contains 23% more protein than the bean content, its a very good vegetarian source of protein. It decreases the risk of colon cancer.

Sprouting helps availability of vitamin C which is not available in Beans.
